6 December, 2013 Head of Committee on Affairs of archives, Boris Moiseevich Pudalov, and the specialist of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of OSG Records Management, Konstantin Bochkarev met on the 6th of December 2013.
The representatives of Committee on Affairs of archives and Public State institution «Center of documents storage and acquisition for the state archives of Nizhny Novgorod » visited the regional branch of OSG Records Management. During the meeting, when the aim was the discussion of prospects for cooperation, the representatives of Committee on Affairs of archives of Nizhny Novgorod got acquainted with the technology of providing the archival services in the field of management and storage of documents.
The guests visited a new high-tech store of OSG Records Management, with the area over 3000 m2 and the height of 12 meters. The specialists of OSG noted that modern high-rise multi-level archival racks allowed storing almost half a million archival boxes.
In June 2013 OSG invested 10 000 000 $ in a new store in Nizhny Novgorod. Today the extended storage area meets all clients’ requests to the documents storage. The company also increased its staff professionals of operational Department, conducted additional training staff to work with new technologies that made possible to increase the quality of provided services.
Head of Committee on Affairs of archives of Nizhny Novgorod region, Boris M. Pudalov, having familiarized with the technology of archival documents storage in OSG, noted that it differed from the current traditional system of storage and registration of archival documents in state and local government archives. He said that its effectiveness to assure the security of the data, rapid search and provision of the requested information to users attracted the attention of the guests.
In addition, the attention of the representatives of the State archival service of the Nizhny Novgorod region attracted the accurate work activity management and personnel training in OSG, the effective implementation in the latest IT-technologies in the field of storage and creation of information retrieval systems for a significant volume of archival documents. As a result of the meeting, the State archive service of the Nizhny Novgorod and the regional branch of the company OSG agreed to cooperate.
