12 April, 2016 April 8, the annual awards ceremony "The Best Social Projects of Russia" was held at the Radisson Resort & Spa Zavidovo. The event was created as part of a governmental initiative to strengthen partnerships between the state, society and private business. The focus is projects that contribute to a socially developed society in Russia. OSG Records Management won the category "Environmental projects and initiatives" for their project "A paperless office. Saving natural resources".
Each year, OSG actively participates in "Day without papers", an internationally observed day which promotes the concept of a paperless office. It is something that is close to the hearts of every employee of OSG. Statistics show that a single office document is printed 6 times on average. OSG encourages its clients, many of the leading companies in Russia and the CIS, to work with e-Archive — electronic archive of documents, which reduces paper documents by half.
OSG’s clients deliver special containers which collect paper documents for confidential destruction in thousands of offices. These are collected and paper documents are shredded in accordance with the international standards ISO 14001 of environmental management, and all processed material is sent for recycling.
Each recycled ton of paper saves 17 trees, 30 000 liters of water and 4000 KWh of electricity. In addition meeting their social responsibility, companies get more space to work, budget savings and business efficiency. In Russia alone, OSG’s project helped to recycled 11,500 tons of paper. That accounts for saving 340 million gallons of water and 200,000 trees, the equivalent to a 500 Ha forest.
Through the use of e-Archive more than 500m pages were not printed, which equates to saving 50,000 trees. OSG is proud to participate with other participating companies such as Samsung, Eldorado, SAP, Ford Sollers, Toyota, Coca-Cola Hellenic, MTS, MegaFon, Sberbank, Norilsk Nickel, P&G, Rostelecom, RusHydro and many others. Together we try to make the world a better place and respect our corporate social responsibility.
